Specimen: Urine

Container(s):Leak-Proof Container

Preferred Vol: 20 mL from 24 hour urine collection with 10 grams boric acid added to the container

Minimum Vol: 10.0 mL

 

Note: Refrigerate during collection.  Also acceptable for collection: 25 mL 50% acetic acid or 6N HCL. Test includes a urine creatinine. Method is affected by improper specimen collection and by pH (must be <7.5).

This test may be run from the same collection as Free Cortisol urine

Storage location: Place entire collection jug in CPA 2 fridge. . Mix well, measure and note total volume. pH must be <7.5. Transfer 20.0 mL to a plastic urine bottle affixed with a large computer label and refrigerate in the CPA refrigerator. Frozen specimens are acceptable.
