Sample Requirements

Specimen: Whole Blood

Container(s): Yellow/ACD A or B (THIS IS NOT A GOLD TOP TUBE.  Please call lab to obtain ACD tubes)

Preferred Vol: 3 mL if patient's WBC count is normal.  Call BloodworksNW Immunogenetics Lab if patient's WBC count is abnormal.

 

Minimum Vol: 3 mL if patient's WBC count is normal.  Call BloodworksNW Immunogenetics Lab if patient's WBC count is abnormal.

 

Note: Deliver whole blood to lab along with BWNW Immunogenetics Requisition. Fill out entire form as completely as possible. Information on the label and requisition must match exactly. Sample may be shared with HLA Class II.

Do not draw into serum separator tubes. Do not refrigerate or place on ice. Samples must arrive at the Immunogenetics Lab within 48 hours of the draw.  If sample delivery is delayed, call BWNW Immunogenetics Lab to determine sample acceptability.
