Reference Range

A titer of 1:32 or greater should be considered diagnostic for Trichinella infection. False negative results may occur in lightly infected individuals or within the first 3 - 4 weeks of illness in moderately infected patients. A second serum (drawn 2 - 4 weeks after the first) might prove more informative in those serologically negative patients with clinical symptoms of Trichinosis.
