Important Note

Ordering this test seeks evidence of acute infection. If so, the patient is contagious and Infection Control must be notified. Priority of testing (stat vs. routine) is determined by State Epidemiologist on call (206) 418-5500. Ordering provider must contact State Epidemiologist and then notify Lab of testing priority. If recommended by the State Epidemiologist, urine and throat swabs may be sent along with the serology to Washington State Laboratory. NOTIFY SEND-OUTS OF ALL STATS (voice mail OK).
