Surgical Pathology Final Report
Description
Intraoperative frozen sections are used to guide surgery. Tissue should be sent fresh immediately to the laboratory where it is assessed by a pathologist using gross visualization and microscopic review of touch preparations and/or cryosections to inform surgeon about margins, tissue adequacy or other specific and relevant inqueries.

Note: Attach pink frozen section sticker to requisition. Call Histo Lab (206) 987-2580.
Specimens must be delivered immediately to Histology (FB.4.555) and given to someone's personal charge; identify it as a fresh specimen. Specific handling instructions may be obtained from Histology at (206) 987-2580.
Specimen should be labeled with a valid Tissue Pathology Exam sticker.
After 1700 deliver specimens to Histology (FB.4.555) and place in the refrigerator. Notify the pathologist on call.
