Note: The Latex agglutination test is available for CSF or serum. Note that the preferred specimen is CSF. Gel separator tubes are unacceptable for testing.

Storage location: Transfer CSF into plastic aliquot tube. For a serum sample, spin and aliquot serum into plastic aliquot tube. Store each sample type in CPA freezer send-outs rack.

 

Off-site collection:  Transfer CSF into plastic aliquot tube. For a serum sample, spin and aliquot serum into plastic aliquot tube. Transport each sample type frozen.
