H. Pylori Serologies

Important Note

This test is no longer offered by Seattle Children's hospital.

Note to Seattle Children's Staff: Inform ordering provider that testing will not be performed.  We offer a recommended test (below) that they can choose to add-on.

The recommended replacement is Stool Helicobacter pylori Antigen.

Phlebotomists: Do not collect blood for Helicobacter pylori serologies.

Sample Requirements

Phlebotomists: Do not collect blood for H Pylori Serology.

Notify ordering provider that this test is no longer available at Seattle Children's and we do not send this test out to other reference laboratories.

Clinical Utility

Seattle Children’s does not offer H Pylori serology testing for clinical indications.

Seattle Children’s does not send H Pylori serology testing out to other reference laboratories because we do not perform third party billing for tests that are not clinically indicated. Please see the following clinical recommendation from Choosing Wisely.
