Container(s): Lt. Green/Mint Top Lithium Heparin, Lt. Green/Lithium Heparin Microtainer, Gold SST, Gold Microtainer, Dark Green/Sodium Heparin, Red, Lavender/EDTA, or Lavender/EDTA microtainer

Preferred Vol: 1.0 mL

Minimum Vol: 0.5 mL

 

Note:  Gold preferred. Note on the requisition whether the specimen is peak, trough, or random. Draw peak level ½ hour after the end of a ½ hour infusion or 1 hour post IM injection. Draw trough level ½ hour before the next dose. Only Random level is available STAT.

Off-site collection: Spin and freeze plasma/serum and ship frozen.
