Test Code LAB18 Lipid Panel

Important Note

Effective January 11, 2022, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) equation will replace the Friedewald equation for all lipid panels that report calculated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL).
The NIH calculation provides a more accurate LDL result than the Friedewald equation, especially in patients with low LDL concentrations (<70 mg/dL).

Patient should be fasting (at least 8 hours). For patients <2 years, fasting is 4 hours.
