Because of differences between assays from different manufacturers, all results include this comment: "The following results were obtained with the Bioplex 2200 Anti-CCP IgG assay. Results obtained from other manufacturers' assay methods may not be used interchangeably."
Description
This test is used in the evaluation of patients suspected of having juvenile rheumatoid arthritis or other connective tissue diseases that may present with arthritis. It is used to detect citrullinated antibodies in patient serum or plasma. Citrullin is an unusual amino acid formed after post-translational modification to arginine.
Results are obtained using the Bioplex 2200 Anti-CCP IgG assay. In this method, anti-CCP results > 3 U/mL are considered reactive. Results obtained from other manufacturers’ assay methods should not be used interchangeably.
