Cytokine Panel
Description
Quantitative magnetic bead based assay for IL2, IL4, IL6, IL8, IL10, GM-CSF, IFN-gamma, and TNF-alpha. Please contact Chemistry to notify of sample collection when results are needed same day.
Test requests on ambulatory patients will be reviewed and sent to ARUP if applicable (if next day TAT is not needed).
Sample Requirements
Specimen: Whole blood
Container(s): Lavender/EDTA
Preferred Vol: 2 mL
Minimum Vol: 0.6 mL
Note: Send to Lab within one hour of collection. Heparin is unacceptable.

Storage location: CRITICAL FROZEN. Separate plasma from cells within 2 hours of collection. Promptly place sample in the CPA freezer, Fz5 rack unless assay will be performed immediately. Call Chemistry (987-2565) when samples are received.
Off-site collection: CRITICAL FROZEN. Separate plasma from cells within 2 hours of collection. Send frozen.
