Sample Requirements
Specimen: Whole Blood
Container(s): Yellow/ACD A or B (THIS IS NOT A GOLD SST TUBE)
Preferred Vol: 3.0 mL if patient's WBC count is normal. Call BWNW Immunogenetics/HLA Laboratory if patient's WBC count is abnormal.
Minimum Vol: 3.0 mL if patient's WBC count is normal. Call BWNW Immunogenetics Laboratory if patient's WBC count is abnormal.
Note: Deliver whole blood to lab along with BWNW Immunogenetics/HLA Laboratory Requisition. Fill out entire form as completely as possible. Information on the label and requisition must match exactly. Sample may be shared with HLA Class II. NO GOLD SST (SERUM SEPARATOR TUBES). Do not refrigerate or place on ice. Samples must arrive at the Immunogenetics/HLA Laboratory within 48 hours of the draw. If sample delivery is delayed, call BWNW Immunogenetics/HLA Laboratory to determine sample acceptability.

Place a large Cerner label in the top right corner and deliver the bagged sample and requisition to the room temperature Send Outs rack. After hours or on weekends, make a copy of the requisition and send the sample to Bloodworks Northwest (921 Terry Ave) via Delivery Express.
