Specimen: Whole blood
Container(s): Gold SST, Red, Dark Green/Sodium Heparin, Lt. Green/Lithium Microtainer, Gold Microtainer
Preferred Vol: 1.0 mL
Minimum Vol: 0.5 mL
Note: Sample is NOT affected by exposure to normal indoor fluorescent light.
However, exposure to UV light (such as sunlight) can affect results. Sample may be protected from by wrapping with paper towel and securing with one piece of tape, or wrapping in foil, or aliquoting serum/plasma to an amber plastic aliquot tube.
