Test Code LAB3816 Mpox Virus Qualitative PCR
Description
The detection of monkeypox virus DNA by real-time PCR amplification. The primers used in this PCR reaction amplify the F3L gene (Maksyutov et al., J Virological Methods 2016) and the probe hybridizes the target sequences between the primers that specifically identifies the PCR amplicon. The minimum virus level that gives a positive result in 95% of replicates is 328 copies/mL in either VTM/UTM or Aptima multitest tubes.
