Organisms associated with Bacterial Vaginosis
Candida species
Candida glabrata/krusei
Trichomonas vaginalis
Recommended as a substitute for a Genial Wet Mount [LAB252].
Sample Requirements
Specimen: Endocervical/Vaginal Swab
Container: GeneXpert Swab Collection kit
Unacceptable Specimens:
- Frozen specimens.
- Swab specimens collected on any other swab type
Processing Instructions
Deliver to Microbiology Laboratory.
Reject due to: Age of Specimen, Swab from site other than endocervical or vaginal, wrong swab type collected.
