Specimen: Urine (Random or 24-hour Urine Collection)
Container(s): Sterile Screw-Capped Container or 24-Hour Urine Jug
Preferred Vol: 50.0 mL
Minimum Vol: 25.0 mL
Note: 24-hour urines received with preservative, less than 10.0 mL, or not having been refrigerated during collection will be rejected.
Processing Instructions
Reject due to: Collections of less than 10.0 mL, urine collected with preservatives, or non-refrigerated 24 hour urine samples.

Storage Location: If sample is received as a random urine, aliquot at least 25.0 mL of urine into a sterile screw-capped tube for transport and put into the Send Outs rack in the CPA fridge. If sample is a 24-hour urine collection, place the whole jug in the CPA fridge.
Off-site Collection: Refrigerate sample during collection.
