Preferred Vol: 24 hour collection

Minimum Vol: Timed collections other than 24 hr are acceptable.

 

Note: No preservatives are needed to start collection.  Please contact lab to obtain collection container (ext. 7-2102).  Refrigerate specimen during collection.  Document start and stop dates and times with patient information.  Deliver labeled container to clinical lab upon completion.

Method:  Enzymatic rate method by Vitros 4600

Analytical Volume: 0.5 mL 

Limitations: Method is affected by fecal contamination, loss of specimen during collection, Loss of 10% of total urine collected invalidates the test.
