Sample Requirements
Specimen: Whole Blood
Container(s): Lavender/EDTA, Lavender/EDTA Microtainer
Preferred Vol: 1 mL
Minimum Vol: 0.5 mL
Note: Trough levels are collected within one hour of the next dose. Please arrive to the lab 30 – 60 min before the next dose time to allow for probable wait times.
Specimen must be received in the lab by 10:00 for same day results.
If patient is receiving IV cyclo, the lab sample must be drawn off a separate line or from a peripheral source. Assay can also be performed on dried blood spots, but order must be placed for Cyclosporine Level Blood Spot.

Off-site collection: Trough levels are collected within one hour of the next dose. Note draw time on the requisition. Send refrigerated if sample will not be received in lab within 24 hours. Assay can also be performed on dried bloodspots, but must order Cyclosporine Level Blood Spot.
