Limitations:

Reference Range

ADA guidelines suggest that an HbA1c of <5.7% is normal, 5.7-6.4% is increased risk of diabetes (prediabetes), and >6.4% indicates diabetes.

The DCA Vantage (Point of Care instrument) has a positive bias compared to Ortho Vitros 4600 and BioRad HPLC (gold standard) of approximately 4.8%.
