Myelin Basic Protein (MBP)

Important Note

This test is no longer offered by Seattle Children's hospital.

Note to Seattle Children's Staff: Inform ordering provider that testing will not be performed.  We offer a recommended test (below) that they can choose to add-on.

The recommended replacement is Oligoclonal Banding.

Notify ordering provider that this test is no longer available at Seattle Children's and we do not send this test out to other reference laboratories.

Clinical Utility

Seattle Children’s does not offer Myelin Basic Protein (MBP) testing for clinical indications.

 

Seattle Children’s does not send Myelin Basic Protein (MBP) testing out to other reference laboratories because we do not perform third party billing for tests that are not clinically indicated.
