Test Code LAB3028 Extractable Nuclear Antigen Group (ENA)

Important Note

This test has been discontinued as of November 2024.

If a general screen for ENA and other antibodies (including dsDNA and others) is desired, "ANA Screen with Reflex to Components" [LAB3883] may be ordered.

Individual components (SS-A antibodies [LAB3887], SS-B antibodies [LAB3888], Sm antibody [LAB3889], RNP antibodies [LAB3891] and Sm/RNP antibodies [LAB3890]) may be ordered starting 10/1/2024.

Description

This assay is used in the detection and quantitation of autoantibodies to aid in the diagnosis of autoimmune disease.  The ENA panel is intended for the detection of IgG class antibody to 5 separate analytes including SSA, SSB, Sm, RNP, and Sm/RNP in human sera.  The results are semi-quantitative.
