Limitations:
Description
This assay is used in the detection and quantitation of autoantibodies to aid in the diagnosis of autoimmune disease. The ANA Screen with Reflex to Components screens for IgG class antibodies to 11 separate analytes in human sera.
If all 11 components have results <1.0 AI (or less than 10 IU/mL for dsDNA), the screen is negative, and the patient does not have detectable levels of antibodies for dsDNA, SS-A, SS-B , Sm, Sm/RNP, RNP, Chromatin, Ribosomal-P protein, Centromere B, Scl-70, or Jo-1.
If one or more of the components is positive, this testing will be reflexed to result antibody levels for dsDNA, SS-A, SS-B , Sm, Sm/RNP, and RNP.
If the above five components are negative, a second reflex to result antibody levels for Chromatin, Ribosomal-P protein, Centromere B, Scl-70, and Jo-1 will be performed.
